Pership, a group of companies engaged in ships agency, port agency and logistics in Sri Lanka has accomplished a first of its kind at the Colombo Dockyard when they were assigned to coordinate repair work and replacement of anchor wires in an Indian flag bearing self-propelled drilling rig. It’s carrying capacity was 9093 t DWT and her current draught was reported to be 5.8 meters. Her length overall (LOA) was 145.85 meters and her width was 24.5 meters.  A crucial time-critical aspect of this operation was to transfer approximately 100 tons of anchor wire reels from India to Colombo by a tug and to get the same unloaded at Colombo Dockyard in close collaboration with the shipyard and owners and to send back used/worn out anchor wires removed from the rig back again to India in another tug.
